Mutatoes

This is fascinating! I'm always amazed when I cut into a pepper and find some Sci-fi looking innards. German artist, Uli Westphal has brought to light an awesome collection of mutated fruits and vegetables. Check out more of his work here.

Winter treats

Even though it is a New Year and Christmas cookies are now on everyone's hit list....

I stumbled upon this adorable creation on Megan's blog, Not Martha. You can find the instructions and a template here.

I will definitely be making these next winter!

Art Crush: Diem Chau

Diem Chau produces these beautiful carved crayons. I love the idea of manipulating these coloring tools into a sculptural piece. I was impressed by a commission piece she did for Nike for the World Cup 2010.

Another sweet commission: Crayons with ten different world currency symbols.

What an unlimited color palette! Check out Diem Chau's work on her website or on her blog

Happy New Year!

Hello! One of my goals for the new year was to start a blog. Ever since I finished my studies at the VCU Photography department, I have not been taking as many pictures as I used to. I'm hoping that this will motivate me to produce more work.

Here are some images I took yesterday with the lovely Katie Partlow in Georgetown, DC. This is a tableau of a party girl's day after new years. Keep that party going.
